EXECUTIVE ORDER AIMS TO REFORM SPECIALIZED VISA PR

President Trump has made an executive order on April 21st for a specialized visa program for foreign workers.  This order proposes new rules that will ensure H-1B visas are only given to the highest skilled positions .

"The H-1B visa program allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ highly skilled foreign workers in specialty occupations; foreign physicians and medical students regularly use the program to practice and train in the United States."

Trump has made this order in efforts to prevent abuse of the immigration system and to displace hard working american citizens for cheaper foreign labor. However, “[There is] no immediate impact on the H-1B at all, just a promise to look at the program and ‘crack down’ on the alleged abuse and fraud,” Ms. Minear said in an interview. “I view this as a way of scaring people and looking to sound tough while actually doing nothing to change the system.”
